Katy opened her first yoga studio in 2009 in a small storefront across the street from a KFC in Emeryville, CA. The first Square One had a lot of heart, but not much revenue and just a few loyal students. Since then, Katy has grown the business to four locations across the East Bay that serve thousands of people. It has become a local institution. Square One is known for its friendly community, excellent instructors, and classes that are accessible for every body. Katy continues as Studio Director and Lead Trainer in Square One's Acclaimed Mindful Flow Yoga Teacher Training. Square One has been voted Best Yoga Studio in the East Bay for four years and counting.
