The word vinyasa simply means to place in an intentional or sacred way. By intentionally moving through yoga asanas (poses), our primary objective will be to unite our minds with the actions of our bodies to balance the nervous system, strengthen resilience, and cultivate mindfulness. Challenging sequences and poses may be offered, along with modifications. You will be encouraged to find the balance of strength and surrender that is right for you in each pose, keeping in mind Patanjali's instruction in the Yoga Sutra, that postures be both steady and comfortable, sthira-sukham asanam.
